NewsFan to restore Elvis Presley's Palm Springs homeA fan of Elvis Presley has announced plans to turn the King's former Palm Springs, California home into a tourist attraction. Reno Fontana and his wife, Laura, recently bought the Spanish-style, five-bedroom home site unseen. They plan to restore it and offer Elvis fans another destination besides his Graceland home in Memphis, Tennessee. "I want this to be Elvis of California," Fontana told the Associated Press. "We may have our names on the deed, but we are the caretakers. This house belongs to Elvis fans around the world." Elvis and his wife Priscilla Presley bought the home in April 1970 and lived there part-time with their daughter, Lisa Marie. As previously reported, approximately 50,000 Elvis fans are expected to gather in Memphis tonight (August 15) to perform a candlelit vigil to mark the 30th anniversary of the star's death. Come back tomorrow at 9am (BST) tomorrow (August 16) for NME.COM's special Elvis picture gallery to mark the King's 30th anniversary. Rihanna's 'Umbrella' claims Number One on downloads Rihanna's 'Umbrella' has gone to the top of the UK singles chart tonight (May 20) on downloads alone. The track is not released physically until May 28, so betters Gnarls Barkley's 'Crazy' which went Number One with just downloads one week before release. However that record was set before chart rules were changed to allow all online releases to count towards the main countdown. When 'Crazy' was released downloads only counted one week before the physical single. After learning of her chart success, the singer told NME.COM: "I can't believe it, finally! I always stay at Number Two in the UK, but thanks to the fans that get it, it's a great thing. The single isn't even in the stores yet, a lot of people have got it digitally, so thank you to them." Rihanna leartn of her success onstage at Radio 1's Big Weekend and you can read NME.COM's report of the moment live from the site online now. Elsewhere in the charts, Maroon 5 are at Number Two with ;Makes Me Wonder', while CSS have just crept back into the Top 40 with ' Let's Make Love And Listen To Death From Above' slipping in at Number 39.
